AS YOU WERE . . .

AS YOU WERE . . .

This work concerns the contemplation of both the personal and the collective attrition of memory and its effect on the creation of our cultural mythology. It is concerned with how memories, both individual and collective, form, evolve, fade and disappear, and questions the reliability of cultural‘memory’. “As you were” 1946 and “As you were” 1949 These volumes, from a series published during the First and Second World Wars, presented the work of service and ex-service personnel. The contents are described as “A cavalcade of events with the Australian Services from 17881947”
